Timothy B Schmit - Expando - A Solo CD

As some of you know, I’ve put together another “All Wood and…”  cd’s.   Last time it was John Batdorf (www.johnbatdorfmusic.com) and I doing classic Rolling Stones songs  acoustically.   This time with classic Doors songs done acoustically with my pal, Cliff Eberhardt (www.cliffeberhardt.com).

As with the All Wood and Stones (www.allwoodandstones.com), I have invited many of my friends to come over and contribute and even have John Densmore (original Doors drummer, www.johndensmore.com) playing drums on some of the cuts.

So yesterday, my old pal, Timothy B Schmit (www.timothybschmit.com) came over to do some background vocals on Soul Kitchen and Take It As It Comes.

He showed up a true professional, prepared, warmed up and in a great mood, ready to work.   There’s nothing like a pro.

He delivered the goods in record time and then we sat around talking about life, music and, of course, our new solo albums.

You know about mine, Backstage At The Resurrection, and how I am holding back it’s release until after this Doors project is out there a while.

I can’t promote and tour behind two CD’s at once, so…

In any event, Timothy has a new one out (late winter 2009 release) entitled Expando, on Lost Highway Records (www.losthighwayrecords.com)  and it is without a doubt, his best solo work; his most mature writing and fully realized solo CD.

As many of you know, Timothy is the bass player and tenor vocalist in the Eagles (www.eaglesband.com)  and you know how meticulous and careful they are in the studio.

Well on this CD, Expando, you can hear Timothy having a great time, as a writer, a player, a producer.   It’s just a really good CD and it’s a delight to hear him so loose and relaxed.

I just wanted to recommend it to you all.   If  you are fans of Poco, the Eagles and good writing, producing, playing and singing, this CD will work for you.

And it gets better with each listening.   Check it out.   Expando  by Timothy B Schmit on Lost Highway Records.  You can get it at his website or any of the reputable download sites.

James--I've always loved Timothy's work and whenever I pick up the bass, I'm always reminded of his incredibly solid pocket playing and unique technique. We can learn something from everyone, we just have to keep our eyes and ears constantly open.
I look forward to playing with you again soon.
